About Catawba County Criminal History

Catawba County criminal records are divided among the sheriff, the Clerk of Superior Court, city police departments, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the correction system, and the state registry. We built this private reference to make that split easier to follow. Readers can identify the office, portal, address, or phone line that matches the record they need before making a request.

Why We Built This Site

North Carolina provides several public record routes, yet each answers a different question. Catawba Sheriff Records handles sheriff reports, booking material, and warrant records. The Clerk of Superior Court keeps filed charges and dispositions. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation maintains fingerprint-supported state history, while the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction publishes custody and supervision information under the separate Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission structure. The North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry is another system. We bring the verified contacts, fees, search tools, and request steps into one clear local reference.

  • Agency contacts: direct paths to the sheriff, criminal clerk, city police records units, and statewide custodians, including the FBI Identity History Summary route for federal self-review
  • Record relief basics: where North Carolina expunction petitions begin and why the exact court disposition matters

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. We are not connected with a North Carolina court, Catawba County office, police department, or state agency. Those boundaries mean:

  • We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
  • We cannot submit an expunction petition, public-record request, or other filing for you
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
  • We cannot promise that an agency phone number, fee, address, or operating rule has not changed

Only the record custodian, such as the sheriff, clerk, or SBI, can issue an official copy. The document must come from that office.

Search Partners

Search boxes on some pages are operated by outside providers. Each provider controls its results, prices, and service terms. If a visitor follows one of those tools and purchases a service, we may receive a referral payment that supports free access to this reference. We do not set the provider's fee and cannot alter the information it returns.
